I know I've seen youtubes with non-leo/non-military folks shooting chain guns. I don't believe those existed before 1986, did they? May be a money talks thing. Has nothing to do with "money talks"......I have shot lots of machine guns that were built after '86, but they are not transferrable and I can't own them. I have friends that hold NFA dealer (SOT) or manufacturer licenses and they can legally possess/own post '86 machine guns under certain circumstances. These guns are known as "post '86 dealer samples". https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/atf-national-firearms-act-handbook-chapter-7/downloadI doubt owning those licenses are either easy or cheap. And what is real money to some is small change to others. So, I may been somewhat correct. Went out with a C-3 dealer friend a couple of weeks ago to let the kids shoot some MG's. Had an M60E6, BREN, Bulgarian AK-74, M4, G-33, G-36, AR-18, UZI, Sterling Mk IV, and a few others. These were all dealer samples. A dealer sample for something like the AK-74 would be under $2,000.00, whereas a pre-'86 transferable version of the exact same rifle could go for over $20.000. Transferable belt feed guns can get way up there in price.

Why don't you find out instead of acting like you know what you are talking about?? If you can get an FFL, you can get a license to deal in NFA items. The "Special Occupational Tax" required to deal in NFA items is $500/year. The SOT for a title 2 manufacturer is $500/year for businesses doing less that $500,000/year in gross receipts. If you can afford to feed a machine gun, $500/year isn't much of a hinderance.......and the tax is generally deductible since the license is required to conduct business.

Is it possible to build a "ghost" full auto AR 15? By that I mean take a 80% lower, machine it for full auto parts, install the correct parts and have a legal unregistered full auto AR 15? Nope. Can't be done.

You didn't use logic or reason to get into this opinion, I cannot use logic or reason to get you out of it.
