Couple of good points on TV this morning:
Now is a great time to review "non-essential personnel", some may not be needed at all.
Why should Congress be able to shut down govt. just because they refuse to do their jobs?
Only chit-hole countries try to punish citizens with political hi-jinks that accomplish nothing.

There is NO Maybe here! This is complete nonsense and sarcasm.

97 % of Americans can't agree on anything let alone politics. Ya can't even get that many to agree that the world is round for [bleep] sake.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

I figured out how the shutdown will affect me. The IRS was supposed to start processing 2017 tax returns on Monday. I can wait for the money I over paid.

I assume that non essential workers that don't work will still be paid for their not working time? So they get additional paid vacation.

we ordinary working blokes, citizens, taxpayers, don't have to pay taxes for any and all days the gov't is shutdown, right? i mean, why should we have to?

and who decides that minor detail? the repubs or the demo's? or do they BOTH agree that we still have to pay, gov't or no? those clowns are trying yet again to take us citizens for a ride at our expense.

shutdown shumer and shutdown trump (pick one) should belly up to the podium together & arm in arm, and announce a tax holiday for all days the gov't is dysfunctional and shut down. let's see how some reality injected into the equation might work to motivate the congress to lead.

but we won't see that. we'll see endless tv soundbites, and video clips, while our taxes continued to be deducted from our paychecks (for those who are working), the non-tax payers are going to suffer a hardship when the money machine dries up.

Steve4102,

Fwiw, you couldn't get 97% of Americans to agree that they like pie, much less anything else. = Thus the claims of the leftist/Trump-HATING radicals are BUNK.

I would suggest that those who believe that Democrats shutting down the government on behalf of illegal aliens is wrong should look to how to support local military when the paychecks stop but they are still required to work. These folks don't make $100K a year like the bureaucrats do. So volunteer up money for food, utilities -- Reach out and find out how to support our military while the Dems use them them and cause them to suffer so they can help illegal aliens.

So is Navy Federal CU. And First Command Bank. I have seen a few places that are waiving fees on most loan payments if this shutdown is affecting them.

I am going to have to sit the "kids" down on Monday and really go over this stuff. We will get through it...again...but I am worried about some of the younger one's fiscal responsibility.
