Stock barrel or aftermarket... There is a good video over on YouTube from Hickcock45 testing a G40...accuracy was unbelievable bad using the stock barrel vs. an aftermarket barrel he dropped in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwGrpePCYeIJacketed or cast? Powders... Longshot, AAC-9 and Power Pistol seem to be the most popular powders for max loads. Just bought some 200 grain LBT style bullets from Montana Bullet Works...they shot extremely well with Longshot. Have not gotten a chance to chrono them but the poster who gave me the loads had and they will running over 1200 fps in long barrels. http://10mm-firearms.com/reloading-10mm-ammo/montana-bullets-works-10mm-200-grain/...good luck... I saw almost no difference accuracy wise between the stock G40 barrel and an aftermarket one. Velocity was about 50fps higher on the aftermarket though. For factory ammo, I've had great luck with Double Tap's 200gr. Nosler JHP. Took a whitetail with it this fall and the bullet went completely through, deer died in less than a minute.
If you want to reload, I'd look at #9 and the 200gr. XTP. The 200gr. JHP Nosler is good too, but it's a softer hollow point. I've seen notable deformations of the rim of the Nosler hollow point as it hits the feed ramp in my 2011 and 1911.

Bob I didn't see him drop in an aftermarket barrel in the linked video. He didn't have one on the bench either that I saw. I did jump around a bit to find where he installed the aftermarket but didn't find it.

Maybe I got the wrong one.... Will look again but there is one where he was shooting at his long distance targets and they were all over the hill...put in the aftermarket barrel and he hit just about every target he aimed at. He then said this happened while he was practicing for the video also...

Tried a few powders.....ended with #9....I think 14gr under a 180 XTP. Just a guess from memory. Vet that charge before you try it.
Please God, give me some good tags this year....

DoubleTap's cast bullet loads have/had a reputation for sometimes using undersized bullets that don't shoot well in some barrels, including OEM Glock. The same bullets, properly sized and with a good load, shoot very well in the same Glock barrels.

Just got my Glock 40, had a Trijicon RM-06 installed and a trigger job. Trigger is softer than factory, definitely not 1911 quality. I have a Glock .45 ACP, never shot it that much.
I'm loading 180 gr. Horn XTP over 9.2 gr. Longshot in my Dillon 550B. I bought Dillon dies, used a 38-40 powder drop/expander and a 9mm shell plate, both of which I already had. I got a couple of boxes of Horn factory 180 XTP ammo. They show 1,180 fps, my reloads should be around 1,200.
Due to weather, I've not yet sighted it in.
I'm thinking about a Kenai, Kydex chest holster. Some say drawing the gun makes too much noise with the Kydex. I guess one could draw a bit slower. I like its design and it's light weight.
Getting ready for hogs. Appreciate comments.

I doubt it would run with the factory barrel. Cast and Glock rifling don’t typically get along very well.

I use Lonshot in my 1911 10mm under 200 grain Noslers and XTP's took both bullets to 1250 fps in it's 5" barrel, more for looking for smileys and bulges on the brass than anything, found none, loaded the rest of the brass, and recently bought new cases to 1200 fps, that will work for my intended purposes.

Mark in GA That's a common thing for people to repeat on the internet, usually without any real experience to back it up. It's completely false. Cast in Glock rifling works great, as long as it's not undersized, but that's true for conventional rifling too. Soft swaged lead in Glock rifling does not work well, big difference from cast.

I've found the factory Hornady stuff works well with their XTP bullets. Be careful loading the 10. It's a small case, and can go critical easily. Brass can vary a lot, etc. The other thing is that it has lots of power and/or penetration w/o pushing the limits. It's also famous for breaking down guns with hot loads. To me, it's not worth the risk. You see, handguns don't break down at a certain point when fed hot loads.... E
