Very impressive! Just when I think I don't "need" another rifle, you come along!

Last year I built a .308 AR. It I decide to get a new upper. going smaller (6.5?) has been top of mind. Can't think of any reason I'd go to .375 when a .338 Fed would do everything I want.
Curious what the benefit of the .375 Raptor is over the .338 Fed?

What’s the straight walled case?
That works in your AR-10 platform, as well?

Ok, I too question why the 375 Raptor? There is the 338 Federal and the 358, both with factory ammo, if you want a hard hitting round under 300 yards. I also think someone already makes barrels and uppers for 338 Federal, maybe 358 also. No special barrel to custom make.

When it comes to guns or cartridges, you shouldn't have to ask why. If you have only one centerfire rifle and it is a 30-06, then you can ask. If you have more than one, you are part of the "problem" and have no business asking why someone else wants or builds something different. Just because is a sufficient reason.

I formed 50 pieces from once fired Remington R-P brass that had been run through my 7.62 Sig Sauer 716.
I do have a bunch of Mil-Spec CBC 7.62/ NATO marked that's been through one of my Springfield scouts that I can try.
Just a heads-up, you might run into early pressure signs and wonky extraction with that CBC brass. I had some that acts like it's softer in the case head and body, while LC brass works great. I don't know if it's just that batch, or something common to all CBC 7.62 brass. Cool rifle and I'm digging the looks of that Aero handguard. I've considered a 375/08 wildcat too, but being a fan of the 35 cal I keep being drawn back to the ol' 358 Win.

That works in your AR-10 platform, as well? The straight walled cartridge pictured is a .45 Raptor. The barrel pictured by itself is a AR10 16" .45 Raptor barrel and the separate Mag pictured is a AR10 Mag converted to shoot the .45 Raptor.👍👍

It looks like the converted mag for the 45 Raptor is bullet specific. Is that correct? Or are there just no appropriate longer bullets for it?

My questions was what will the Raptor do that a .338 Fed won't? (Or .358 Win, for that matter?) It's a cool looking cartridge, no doubt about that, but it seems like a lot of time and money for very little gain. Serous question, would really like to understand if there is anything besides it being different.
