Often the yellow or haze is from the glue holding the lenses together. I had a Weaver K12 redone by Ironsite a couple of years ago that is much clearer now.

Cataracts really are a problem also, things just don't look "right" any more.

Since Leupold got the rights to the Redfield
I wish they would bring back a New Tech
Version of the Lo-Pro WideField!
I would buy a 2-7 and a 3-9 in a Heartbeat!

I hunted with a 2-7 widefield for a long time in the early 1980's thru about 2000. Had it on a .30-06 and the only problem it ever had was fogging up on a snowy and cold day in the elk woods. They fixed at the Redfield plant in Denver but I never trusted it after that. It was used for antelope a few more times I think before I bought something else.

I still use the 2-7x with the 4PCCH reticle I got in 1968 or thereabouts. Never had a moments trouble with my Denver Redfields.

I have one 2x7 — tv screen. No problems with it.

I prefer classic.

I have a Golden 5 Star 1x-4x on a 99 in .358. Wish I could get more, but I've had to settle for VX-3 1.5x-5x on other close shooting guns.
