18 year olds can own pistols anywhere that pistols are legal to be owned; they just can't purchase them from a licensed dealer.

I believe that one of this society's biggest mistake is NOT letting our kids grow up. Pushing these ages up is a detriment. Give them the teaching and responsibility at an earlier age.

Take away the toys sooner, would be a huge step in the right direction.

Read an article on the FL shooter, had some parental issues. Mom did everything for him. Sounded like he was on the right track and wanted to join the military. I think enlisting at 18 would have benefited him.

Both of my boys have been doing their own laundry since they were 7 or 8, know their way around a kitchen, got driver's license as soon as it was legal. Have been shooting guns since before the age of 5. Got jobs as soon as they were able.

Treating them like kids and expecting them to act like adults is ridiculus. Treat them like kids when they are kids, young adults when puberty hits, and adults when they are.

Biologically, male brains are not fully developed until about 25. But expecting them to act likes adults and train their brain while still growing is not wrong. Should we set the minimum age for everything at 25? Draft, alcohol, guns, marriage, etc?

They just want to reinforce the idea that they can pass another law, and YOU have to obey it, regardless of the morality or Constitutionality of that law. It is the ever-used trick of government. You are not slaves; legislators are not your masters. You are free men, and this is a nation of Liberty, not just legislation. Congress never had any power to legislate the ownership or possession of any arms or weapons of war.

You beat me to it, this is exactly what I was thinking, you could send the same kid that can’t buy beer or a gun halfway across cross the world to kill our enemies. Truly amazing!

They act as if the second amendment doesn't exist. I say phooey. If guns are bad and don't make you safe, then pull all armed security from politicians. We've been wasting our money on it, apparently.

I'd seriously consider voting for any politician that actually put their convictions 1st, and refused any armed security detail. However, they would probably not live long enough to get elected...............
