I remember a couple of mixed race students who would misbehave, and it was a sure bet that they would cry racist when facing punishment. The line was usually something like,"You are only picking on me because I'm black".

the so-called "race card" holds value, or it wouldn't be played. if no reason to do so. it's valueless at that point.

There was a black clerk at our Post Office who always had an attitude, I never took any crap from her and her response was that she didn't know why I was mad at her for just doing her job. She liked to give me the third degree whenever I mailed a book via media mail, quoting the rules for media mail to which my reply was that I was familiar with the regulations and I didn't appreciate being accused of trying to get a cheaper rate for material that didn't qualify for media mail rates. Her response was to go crazy stamping media mail on every surface of my package where other clerks stamped the package only once. Fortunately she now works in the back and has no contact with the public, apparently her supervisor was getting complaints from customers about her attitude. The other black clerks are perfect ladies and gentlemen, never had any problems with them their attitude is always cheerful.

Playing the race card is usually a last ditch effort by an unethical assh*** to avoid the consequences bad job performance and who happens to be part of a minority group.

If you work in a gun shop, you'll get the race card thrown at you weekly. At least once a week I shoot down a potential straw sale and I'm a racist for it. Almost as often I refuse a sale because they come in smelling like they just left a weed party hosted by Snoop Dog and Willie Nelson.
