I wish I was in your spot. Traced my paternal grandfather's side up and they came to TX in 1865. Traced paternal grandmother's side to Texas in 1846. I can't join.

never knew my grandfather, he died the year before i was born. he did come to me in a dream once though.

i'll have to read though the papers, i believe he was a texas ranger. Roger, I believe as a result of that meeting with the Governor in SA, that Alcalde Tumlinson was attempting to get to when he was killed, the "Ranging companies" were established in 1823!!!! So it stands to reason that the idea of the Rangers was already discussed between Austin (the empresario) and the different area alcaldes!!! Thats pretty cool!!
