I've kicked around the same question for some time. I'm likely going to pick up a 24" CTR towards the end of summer/fall and hang a 9' SAS off the end of it. In a KRG Bravo stock, I doubt an extra 4" of barrel is going to keep it from pointing like a quail gun (grin).
I'm thinking it's mostly going to be a range toy. Most of my hunting is done out of a blind, a half mile from the truck, across flat ground. I've got two #1A's in the safe if I've gotta have stubby/light. An ABolt Stainless Stalker if the weather sucks.
If I hate 24", I'll have it chopped. Though my thinking is I'd be more likely to try to keep 24" and ream it to .260AI. Nothing like being practical..........
