My biggest gripe about Bush 2 was how he acted when it came to not defending himself or his actions. He would just sit there like a knot on a log, and keep mum while the Democrats and the press ripped him a new azzhole. Now, I wonder if he was just being a dumbass and didn't have a clue what to say, or how to react.

Yeah, the Bush's are the GOP elite, the old school that sees things different from most of us, and I used to respect them for what I thought was acting as a gentleman should. But, not after Daddy Bush voting for Hillary, and GW badmouthing Trump. They, the whole bunch of them, need to ride off into the sunset and never be heard from again.

His wife was a disappointment when she claimed,as a Christian, that homosexuals should be allowed to marry. She apparently has some idiotic and maybe romantic idea about homosexuality. The truth about sodomy, that is,a man ramming his penis into another mans ass-hole apparently escapes her.

Then I witnessed the two Bush daughters hosting a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood. This truly solidified my suspicions that the Bushs had bamboozled millions of Americans including my wife and myself.

Now it comes to light that Bush senior voted for Hillary Clinton.

Are there any decent politicians left or are they all masters of deceit like the Bush family?

Yeah, but he was a tad better than "I invented the internet Al" or "Franken-Heinz".

I've had occasion to meet and talk with Bushes. Certainly not in depth, but enough to get a sense of who they are. GHWB wants to be a "fair" person. He wants to be fair to everyone and fair to every side. He wants to see the good and the best in people. I got that same sense from meeting Jimmy Carter. I think W sees himself as the same. They don't especially welcome controversy, and strive to be ladies and gentlemen the best they are able. I get the sense that Barbara is the fighter in group. Barbara is the one who will take a hard stance and fight for it. Barbara is less concerned with being universally liked and accept and more concerned with being "right". She should have been President on that talent alone, and not husband or son, but I digress.

The Bushes acquiesced to cultural pressure. They want to be seen as "reasonable people. On a personal level, I found them very gracious and accommodating. On a political level, give me Reagan.

I got that read on Barbara. During W's presidency, I often wished I could be in the Elder Bush kitchen to hear her response to the lies being told about her son.
I love those old women like her. Proper ladies, but if you cross their family, they become demons.

I wouldn't necessarily jump to that conclusion. The hand he was dealt after 9/11 was an extremely difficult one. We can pick it apart, but that event not only changed and complicated his Presidency but changed and complicated the world. W didn't sign up for Osama's surprise, and no one could have been ready. Had that event never happened, his Presidency would have been completely different, and perhaps more of what you had hoped.

His major failure was in not using his bully pulpit in his 8 yrs of reign. Could have gotten much done but being from the Yale "Skull and Crossbones cult" (globalists), he failed.

Is he a decent guy? Yes. Was he a very intelligent guy? No. As you said, give me Reagan.

I suspect GW is quite a bit smarter than a lot of his former supporters. GD

The Bush's just can't accept the fact they spent $100 million on Jeb's campaign for 2% of the vote. It was a family embarrassment they will never live down

It was pretty hard for them to outdo Lyndon Baines "Landslide Lyndon" Johnson when it came to deceit, corruption, and just plain ol' lying. I would think Texans wouldn't be too proud of LBJ, either.

The Bush's are NEOCONS, always have been, always will be. Reagan BTW hated them.

Sad to note that the 2 Bush presidents were responsible for enormous expansion of big government. Examples:
Dad for the largest increase of the EPA, which helped push American manufacturing offshore.
Jr for Homeland Security, as exemplified by the TSA.
Like Jimmy Carter, apparently decent people, that in reality, did not serve us well.
The Lesson: Quit listening to what politicians are saying. Pay a lot of attention to their actions.
