There is nothing that 165/168/180/200 grain cup and core bullets can provide that a 130 grain TSX/TTSX cannot. There are however speed and penetration that the TTSX provides which the cup and cores cannot. What the C&C does provide that the130 TSX,etc does not is less wind drift with heavier bullets and a lower price!

OK, I have been working with the 190ABLR in 30/40 both pistol and rifle. They are wonderfully accurate at modest speeds. Nosler says they will expand to 1300 fps. Maybe this bullet will work in the 30'06...over a modest charge of H4831, (the Fusion 180s are so very accurate over 56 grains,of H4831 guessing 2600 fps?) There must be a hundred best loads for the 30'06 Maybe more?

...What are you pushing your 130 TTSX bullets with? Varget? I use 51.0gr Varget or 58.0gr of IMR-4064 over the 130gr TTSX in my 700 Mountain Rifle. Both give very good accuracy. Ed

Max load of Ramshot Hunter, 168 gr NBT, Winchester LRM primer, RP cases.
That bullet has a thick jacket and decent BC. I’m getting 2900-ish FPS. Have taken deer at ether steep angles and never caught one; wouldn’t hesitate to fling one at an elk and expect through & through penetration.

65gr of RL26 gives 3008fps with 165gr Ballistic tips, 215M primer Winchester cases at 3.280 OAL. Same load works with 165gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claws also. Norma MRP gets over 3000 fps also and is very accurate. MY rifle has a 24" barrel.

Gonna have to try that as it may be a nice, one load does all load. Sent you a PM.

168 TSX or 165 AB over 58-59 gr of H4350 never don't work.
MM This is true from my experience (165X, 168TSx, 168TTSX, 168NBT and/or 165 anything else) also, in several 30-06 rifles of mine and several more I loaded for friend's rifles! I started out with IMR 4350 back in the late 70's then went H4350 in early 90's ( colder here in Utah than East Texas, "sometimes"! ha) One has to "experience" a true East Texas Blue Norther! Well Diggers from WY have a tough time with them when they worked down there! ha AND, I don't really know how "cold" a Witches bosom is "supposed to feel" but I heard many guys make comparisons and say the Blue Norther was actually colder...:)

Ramshot Hunter also worked good for me, as did RL16 and RL17 I was shooting several different 165gr bullets mostly Nosler Ballistic Tips.

Ed You could bump that Varget load to 4064 charge weights in most rifles and it will will around 3300fps. I have used hat powder since it was generated as AR 2208 and this was a test load for many rifles. John

Looks like I have some more test loads to assemble. Ed

165 grain accubond or partition over 57.5 - 58.0 grains IMR4350 or H4350. Check your reloading manual. Nothing I have hit with this load has walked away.

I use the Hornady 190 interlock BTSP bullets, don't remember the load, but worked well on Caribou. Being in Alaska I tend to lean to the heavier slugs, I'm getting ready to try Woodleigh 240 gr slugs, should be good ones for the old 06. John

Looking for suggestions here. I have loaded 30-06 for a decade or so, primarily 150-165 gr bullets, ballistic tips or sst. Settled on the sst for deer as it works well for me. Just bought a new 30-06 and as I tend to be a one load per rifle guy am considering going heavier than 165. Primary targets will be deer but also possibly an elk in near future. With that in mind, stick with a stouter 165 or up to 180-200? 165/168 grain TTSX in Wiinchester cases, 59 grains of H-4350 lit by federal 210 primer.

What kind of velocity are you getting? Thinking of going that direction in my new 30-06, with 22" barrel.
Do or do not, there is no try.

57 - 58 grains of IMR 4350 behind a 165 Partition or TSX, depending if you prefer leaded, or unleaded. Or, the 165 Hornady Interlock if it happens to shoot better with that recipe, which I find it often does.
