I wear them always, sort of.
I am always in a hurry, and don't like to wear a seat belt when I am maneuvering in tight quarters (truck driving thing). So, I always put my seat belt on after I start down the road. It drives my wife crazy, and is a stupid habit, but.............
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

I'm always reaching up for my seat belt...then I remember that I'm in a boat. How lazy to you have to be not buckle up?

I still am quite pissed its a law. Should be my decision and NO one elses.
That said I wear mine most of the time. I’m 50/50...........when I’m out of State I do, when I’m home I might. George

Not as often as I should. Often reach for it on the the highway on ramp.
Need to make an effort to be better about it.

I am against seatbelt laws and I always wear my seatbelt.
I was a paramedic for 14 years. I worked many hundreds of car wrecks. Let me tell you, seat belts work! Yeah, you hit an oak tree at sixty it probably will save your life.
But much more common is the 25 mph head on, guy turning into a shopping center hits another vehicle, slow speed. Paramedics get to the scene, one driver is walking around, looking at damage to car, neither car is totalled. He is unhurt. He had his seat belt on.
The other driver is slumped over the wheel. Dumb ass didn't have his belt on. Blood is gushing from his mouth, two teeth knocked out. Gonna be some oral surgeon work there, several visits. Painful. Also, he has a fracture of the cheek bone beneath the left eye, that bone is thin and easy to fracture, here again, gonna be one or two surgeries by a bone doctor and plastic surgeon.
Walking around, or 4 months of painful surgery? It is your choice.
I remember one wreck I worked, I have tried to forget most of this stuff, trying to avoid PTSD, but y'all reminded me of one wreck. Rural Georgia. Three high school dollies riding around after school in a pickup truck, Jap truck with bench seat. Of course, no seatbelts in use. The girl was on a dirt road, driving slowly, went off the road at about 15 mph. What the f*** would cause someone to leave the road at 15 mph I don't know, dumb ass high school kids. So, there was a 3 foot deep ditch on either side of the road. She just went down into this ditch, the right side of the pickup went into the ditch. The truck leaned up against the red clay bank next to the ditch. And the little 16 year old dollie next to the door, the window was down of course, her upper torso and head went out the window and her head was crushed against the door frame and the red clay bank. Dead Right There. After she got her head crunched, the truck rolled back onto all four wheels, and when we got there, the dead girl was sitting right there on the bench seat, slumped over. Other two girls standing in the road, crying.
Other two girls, not a scratch on them. About $300 damage to the truck, mostly, washing the blood and brains off the door.
Yeah, I had forgotten that one, I remember it because her father was a game warden that I knew.
Take it from an expert, seat belts work.

In many areas - I agree.. But not here. YMMV..
Makes no difference where you drive. All it takes is one person to cross the centerline, run a stop sign or red light on you and you're screwed. NYH1.

Someone always comes up with a story about how someone was saved because they did NOT have a belt on. You hear those stories because they're the exceptions to the norm. Those who are saved because the DID wear one outnumber the others by a very large margin.

seatbelts work most times, but not always. my first wife was killed in an auto accident. she wasn't speeding, she had her seatbelt fastened and the airbag deployed as expected. sadly, she died anyway. I'm sorry to read that and for your loss
