I found something interesting while I was flipping through the SAAMI drawing. There are cartridge and chamber drawings for something called the 35 Nosler. The pressure and velocity specs call for a 250 gr. bullet at 2925 fps. There are pressure and velocity test barrel drawing for this and a 36 Nosler. The barrel drawings are dated 1/19/2015, but the cartridge and chamber drawings have no date. I can find nothing about this on the Nosler website. Has anyone heard anything about this cartridge?

To the best of my knowledge it never was made.

I doubt they will. There's not much demand for a fast .35

Even though it would be an impressive round.

I think you're right. That's why I was surprised to find it.

Nosler had several cartridges approved that they might not ever produce. I asked them about it a couple years ago, and their writer-contact guy, Zack Waterman, said that as long as they were going through the process, they thought they might cover some possible extra bases.

There's also a 36 Nosler listed, naturally a 9.3mm. I told Zack I'd sure be interested if they ever get going on it, and he was happily non-committal.

You’re right Judman, I bet it’s be a wapiti hammer!

Got a 10 Twist Krieger coming for my old 35 Newton, it’ll be cool to see how much different it is than the Nosler. Bet it ain’t much.

I know they aren’t popular now but I dig the 35’s.

They know there's a few people who would love to play with one. But probably not enough interest to justify the money..

Looking at the numbers, it would be a great elk option.

Wouldn't Ruger's 375 already be in the same class as an hot 9.3? It's already out.

oldpinecricker,

Like many shooters, you evidently know very little about rifle history. Introducing a new cartridge with very similar ballistics to an existing cartridge has been standard operating procedure since the development of self-contained metallic cartridges.
