I'm tempted to buy this just for the paint on the stock.

Thanks guys. It's really a cool rifle. The 32 model runs $3999. This is a complete ULA build. Well worth the asking price if no interest I will keep it.

Del, is making brass as simple as running the 8x68S through the .300 T&M sizer, loading, an fireforming? I assume the capacity is about the same as the .300 Win Mag or slightly greater. Any info would be appreciated.

Dave, One pass through the die to neck down to 30 cal. That forms a false shoulder than fireform it. Load is IMR4350 72.5 Gr. pushing 180 partitions about 2950 FPS
I have about 80 or so RWS loaded and fired brass for the rifle. I doubt you would ever need anymore. The RWS brass is tough stuff.
Case capacity 86.1 gr H2O 8X68S
Case capacity 93.8 gr H2O 300 Win Mag

Wow, I keep researching and this continues to get more intriguing to me. I think the disparity in capacity between the .300 Win Mag is partially due to the thickness of the RWS brass and brand of .300 WM brass as well. It would appear to be a beltless .308 Norma Mag twin.
One more question for you Del: How is the recoil. I know the UL stock is very good in helping to manage it, but how about in this light rig?
Thanks,
David

Recoil is not as bad as you would think. I keep saying this but recoil never bothers me in a hunting situation. It is not a rifle you want to sit on the bench and shoot a bunch but that's not what the rifle was built for.

The first Ultra Light Arms rifle I tested (back in the late 1980's) was a .300 Winchester Magnum, and even with 200-grain bullets at 2900+ fps the recoil wasn't bad, and I shot it quite a bit over the several months Melvin let me use it. Of course, much depends on how the stock fits, and the design fits me well.

Looks like a 30 Newton on steroids. I use 8x68 brass to make 30 Newton brass. In doing so I push the shoulder back and trim about .18" off. Leaving the shoulder in place and improving the case, I'm guessing puts case capacity at close to 92 vs the 93 of the 300 WM. Being able to seat the bullet out to the H&H action, I'm guessing would even the case capacities (with flat based hunting bullets).
Very very nice rig. If somebody does buy it, you'll regret getting rid of it about a week later!!
