Having a hard time finding a decent one for $1000. That's about my budget. tgats the only clambering I want and they seem to be hard to find. Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. I've checked GB and guns international and the local classifieds. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
Kyle.

There were two 270 Fwts. (w/aluminum plates) at the Syracuse show yesterday. One would have gone home empty handed with $1,000.00 to spend....

Don't give up the search, they're out there it just takes time to find what you're looking for. I found a .30-06 that cost me $730.00 OTD last year, the stock needed to be refinished and the recoil pad replaced. I refinished the stock myself and had a Decelerator recoil pad installed so my cost is $850.00. BTW I found the rifle on Gunbroker, so keep the faith and I hope your .270 turns up soon.

You will likely continue to have a hard time finding one at that price point. Either your budget needs to grow or your expectations need to shrink. Much easier to find an 06 within your budget - but good luck, it is a worthy search, and given enough time you might luck into something!

Keep your eyes open, I picked this .270 up on Guns International about a month ago. It wasn't listed as a featherweight but upon closer inspection of the pictures I saw that it was. Listed at $729, I sold the scope and bases for $100. Deals are out there if you can be patient.

Be patient, they are out there. Keep in mind, they are going to be harder to find than a 30-06 fwt. Did scott sell his in the classifieds yet?
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Pretty much garbage to me. Stock needs to be thrown away and im sure its a rebarrel. Has an original 270 fwt barrel on it, but its rough..

I reread your original post and I guess it depends on how you define “decent.” I was assuming you meant all original in good shape. We all know what assumptions do. If you can handle some imperfections such as an added pad and a few dings, I think you can find one - might not happen today, but give it some time. Here was one I was watching that sold last month - might give you a reference point. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/750845733

A little honest wear doesn't bother me. I'll be honest, eventually it would get dropped in a McMillan so it'd be lighter and used heavily.

If you price them low like Don did his, it won't last more than 10 minutes in the classifieds: 270 fwt for sale

No it's a 70, I'm not the best quality inspector, especially when I can't hold the rifle

The only pre 64 featherweight I have left is a 358 Win and that one will go for a bit more than a grand, if and when I decide to part with it. donsm70

I have my Dads in 270. I guess I didn't realize they were rare. I also have a 06. Both are 55's if I remember correct. Not many 270's made?
