What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?

I currently have two. Both good shooters,so I'm counting my blessings and sitting pat with them.

Nosler M48 Patriot, or Winchester Extreme Weather? Care to be a little more specific?
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Thinking more mid weight than light weight this time.

Nosler M48 Patriot, or Winchester Extreme Weather? Care to be a little more specific? Well,I've had good luck with Winchester in years past, but have been eyeing these Noslers as well. Non mountain hunting rig. 270 Win,7Remmy mag or maybe the .26 Nosler. Thinking mid weight, good guality iron. Ill give the Nosler the bonus points for trigger. The Winchester action doesn't have to apologize to anyone either though. Just curious what the consensus here is straight up rifle to rifle.

Nosler M48 Patriot, or Winchester Extreme Weather? My M48 Patriot in 270wsm makes little clover leafs at 100yd with 140gr NAB’s...Mine weighs in a hair over 8lbs scoped..Don’t own Winny Xtreme, but It sure is a nice looking rifle. 😎

270 WSM has advantages over the 270 Win. Obviously, 7mag takes them both. Look up the Nosler website on their ballistic performances between the 270 wsm, win, and 7mag under the Trophy Ammunition...The Trophy Long Range ammo looks impressive on paper. I am almost exclusively shooting NAB’s for big game.

How in the hell did we get this deep into this thread without a Tikka recommendation.
OP, either way you will end up with a darned fine rifle, one of which is made in the USA.

So the Nosler gets points from the OP on the trigger (Timney), and as Fotis pointed out has a PacNor barrel. And JB has explained that the Nosler action is factory blueprinted, like a 700 clone action people pay a grand for. The Nosler is probably lighter, and it is Cerakoted. The Nosler is made in the USA, and the Winchester is made in Portugal. And both the Nosler and M70 Extreme have a stock that some people find a little thick in the wrist (I do not). Unless the price drove me to, I don't know why I would buy the Winchester. The Nosler can often be found for just a few hundred more.
