The steel is fantastic. It impressed me. The boar I passed was much bigger than the one I killed. I don't doubt that, but I'd love to konw how the meat is on that one. Its big enough that where I"ve hunted wild pigs in TX there is no way I'd consider him to eat unless he had been cut.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

I ate one of the Tenderloins today. Its outstanding. Even the wife liked it and she is not the biggest meat fan.

The pig is fantastic. I will be smoking both racks of ribs and a hind roast tomorrow. I started cutting up the Water Buffalo and just ate some rare tenderloin. It too is great. When I smoke the pork I will smoke a Water Buffalo Brisket as well.

I think better. You can't beat pork and beef. Corn fed venison is great too. Don't get me wrong. This morning I put a roast from the hog and some beef brisket in the smoker. Only 12 hours to go.

Delicious.
As always, great thread. Although the username threw me off for a minute.
I was thinking... "This posting style seems familiar!"

I couldn’t help but be in awe over the size of the parts of this water buffalo while butchering.

The euro mount for the water buffalo skull is coming along nicely. I do not have a pot large enough for such a big skull so Im using warm water maceration. Its a slow process.

A little off topic but something I've always wondered. Why are all the buffalo I see hunts for in the US of the river type? It would seem that the swamp type with there long sweeping horns would have more trophy appeal.

Good question. It wansnt until I heard of this opportunity that looked into all the breeds of water buffalo. I never knew there were so many strains. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_water_buffalo_breeds

Here is the Water Buffalo skull next to the Hawaiian Bull skull. I also applied the custom decal I had made to commemorate the hunt in texas. Wow, wish I could shoot a couple of bovines on guided, fenced hunts. I find that boring & totally irrelevant - Not real mans hunting. You go poacher boy !!
