The ELD-M series looks about like the old A-Max, which was considered pretty good on game, even though technically it's a match bullet.
The ELD-X has a different construction, different from the Interlock. It's a tougher bullet and I've read accounts of the M expanding better than the X on WT's and such.
The X bullet may be better for bigger game. I have some, but am using the M on WT's and hogs based on those reports.
250 pound hog @ 506 yards. Hit him in the neck. No exit.
200 pound hog was up close and wounded. 20 yards ish. I put one behind it's shoulder. My buddy didn't like how it was looking at him as he had emptied his rifle on the first volley, so I put one behind his ear. No exits on either.
Blacktail was about 80 yards. Small entrance, 3" exit.
Bull was 70 ish yards out on a dead run. Hit him in the neck. Softball size hole.

JG I think I have taken 8 elk now with the 143 ELD-X between about 75 and 350 yards. I was happy with performance, all but 2 bullets exited and all performed well internally. Starting velocity with those loads was a touch below 2700. I'd like to try the 147-M but haven't done it yet. I think the 143 should expand adequately for terminal performance out to 500 based on what I have seen so far. While not a huge sample, I'm happy with what I have seen on game so far.
Concerning the 143 eldx.... This guy (and family) is running them a little faster than a creed. The way they open I don't consider less velocity to be a bad thing.
I'm still "iffy" on them for my use after killing two deer with them this year. The majority of my use is shorter range, often with bad angles, so take that into account.
At any rate, this review below is worth watching/reading:
I shot a mule deer buck with my Creed this past season. 550 yards. 143 ELD-X entered behind the shoulder and left a 2” exit out the top of the opposite shoulder.
Why is it called a double u, should'nt it be called a double v?
I have had great luck with the 143 ELDX. 16 big game animals last year with deer, caribou, and a grizzly bear. 2 caribou were shot with factory loads both under 300 yards. The rest were shot with handloads of 143 eldx at 2850 fps 7 of the 9 deer shot beyond 400 yards. 3 caribou shot beyond 350 yards and a grizzly bear shot further than all of them.
I will continue to run the ELDX in the Tikka as I think they will hold up better for close range than the ELDM since I am running them at 2900 fps now(especially based on how a 225 ELDM blew up last week with poor penetration). But for the little short barrel (18") fieldcraft I am only pushing the 147s at just over 2700 fps so I am hoping they hold together well at that velocity. Give them a whirl and see. If not I know the 143 ELDX works well. The wind drift and retained velocity between the two at similar muzzle velocities is hardly enough of a reason to pick one over the other at distances I plan to kill critters with them out of a 6.5 CM.

I know it is not on your list, but I am currently running the 140gr Sierra GK. I know that the BC isn't as good as others, but the accuracy and on-game performance is crazy.
I wouldn’t pay extra for the 143 eld-x over the 147 eld-m. Below are factory rounds of each fired into water jugs at 40 yards. Honestly I don’t recall which bullet was which b/c the end results were essentially the same. The eld-x also expanded quicker at 300 yards than I expected. The bottom hole is the entrance. The shot wasn’t lethal even though you can see the heart in the top hole and a finishing was required. I was much more impressed with Prime 130gr performance on deer compared to the 143gr ELD-x, smaller entrance holes and larger exit holes.
