Walked into my gunshop and saw one sitting on the shelf and was instantly drawn to it. I can't believe how light the gun is, action appears to be very smooth. Debating between the 308 or the 6.5. Just looking for some reviews to decide if I should spend my tax return on it. Thanks

I got talked out of a Kimber Hunter a couple months ago, with most people saying that it’s like a roll of the dice. You could get a real gem, or it may not shoot great groups, or it may have any number of issues. I agree with you though, they look and feel nice. May have to suck it up and take my chances one day.

I carry a Kimber Montana in 308 and have taken several bucks with it here in PA. I also carried it in Nebraska on a deer hunt in 2016. No complaints and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Whoever talked you out of it didn't know what they're talking about. I just picked up my new Kimber Hunter in 6.5 CM on Thursday. I put a Leupold vx-3 on a DNZ mount, and shot it for the first time on Sunday. I have 5 boxes of bullets but I only brought the Federal Fusion 140gr with me.

It took me 2 shots to get it sighted in at 100. Then I shot a .75" 4-shot group with the next 4 shots, off the hood of my truck. So, I know it will be better than that.

There are as many Kimber haters as there are Leupold haters.

Owning several Kimbers and 20+ Leupolds, I call BS.

As with any light rifle, load development may take some time. They are HUNTING rifles. I have yet to meet one that won't drop 3 in 1" @100, Unless you're a crow hunter, 1" will kill anything that walks.

My Adirondack 6.5 CM shoots bugholes. Just a shame I can't hunt it in the mountains it's named for.
