Hi folks,
I have a laminate replacement stock that does not have checkering and is a bit slippery. what do you all use in place of checkering? I was thinking about skateboard tape/ stair tread tape - the black sandpaper -like stuff.

I appreciate your experience with this.

Works good on handgun front straps so it should work.

I'd consider stippling the stock. It is a DIY project and would look better than skate board tape. Laminated wood ain't exactly pretty. A coat of textured paint wouldn't hurt a thing either.

You can get them checkered but need to stay with a fairly coarse pattern of 16lpi or so.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

I've used Rust-Oleum AS2102 Clear Anti-Slip Spray. Taped off the areas where I wanted grip and sprayed it. Worked for me.
