For a Mid -50's Marlin 336 .30-30. My boy bought a rifle a month ago or so and the butt plate was broken. Does anyone have one, or know the best place to get an oem type part?

If you cant find one you can make one. In the gun tips books they show making one with colored acra-glass. You do need to have all of the parts.

Have you tried Numrich and Brownell's?
Ebay is also a good source.

Vintagegungrips.com should have what you need. There is a bit of variation from one rifle to the other and the fit may not be perfect. Hope for a little big and the excess can be removed easily with a little 400 or so sandpaper. Good Luck, Rick
