Besides, regularly seeing Pat’s 338 LM with its Manners furniture and S&B bullet pointer on top, demonstrating, it’s drool causing accuracy when seeing his steel hits @ 800yards plus with moa of an 1.5 inches or less..Where are the others stories and love for the magnums?
Maybe there isn’t any...I know they’re not as much fun to shoot paper compared to a 6.5 Creedy....But, you gotta shoot um to be good behind them for filling freezers...That’s if you hunt them...Bueller, Bueller, anybody???
Where’s the discussion on the likes of: 338 LM, 338 Ultra Mag, Wby’s 30-378 or 338-378, 300 RUM...And, others that are bolt gun cartridges, not “Lever Action” big bores....So, Who’s shooting em? Dare, I say “Pussy-Galore” are amongst the Fire 🔥 boys? 😁
Now, I realize the magnums aren’t needed in many hunting areas, and would be as outta place as “Pick Camo” in a duck blind for some of you...But, if you got them, and hunt them...Then speak up! 😎

Nice work finding the comma key...... next step is learning how to use it correctly.
Good try though little buddy, you hang in there.
You better pray to the God of Skinny Punks that this wind doesn't pick up......

I dig shooting my big bore 270,000 Winchester.
The long term effects of recoil are very apparent. I typed really slow so you can keep up.

What is wrong with the levers? My "Rhino Blaster" handloads for my Marlin .45-70 are capable of taking down anything that walks, anywhere on this rock. 460g of hardcast at 1812fps. My hunting loads, 300-350g of jacketed lead at around 2180-2200fps get the job done out to 300 yards.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

My foray into the long range boomer arena was a 338/300 Ultra, which is equal to a 338LM in performance.
Mine ran 300's at 2820, and stayed super to a bit over 2K.
Got tired of the blast and concussion, so I sold it to build the 7x300WM, which I sold to build the 6.5 PRC......

That's pronounced "moo-ah".

Anyone shooting the Hornady 270 ELD-X in a 338 Win?
How's that working out?
I suspect recoil is unpleasant, but Hornady shows:
.757 (G1) .381 (G7)

Beaver10,
"Creedy"?
At least nobody, so far as I know, has called a Nightforce a "Nighty."

I have shot .338/378, .338 WM, and .338-06. I kept a .338 WM of some sort for years. Then I noticed that although I hauled them to hunting camp, they never got to hunt in favor of the standard rifle of the day. They were lighter and handier than the magnums. Hunting the foothills on foot, it makes a difference. Thus the .338-06 which I used exclusively for everything for several years. Then I noticed that there was not much that the 200 Speer could not handle. I guess that was the first clue that I had been using more gun than was required. The .308 ot something smaller does everything I need to do.
I Played with several .375s and .45-70s. At about age 70, I started shipping the belted magnums. The last one left five years ago. Even my soft recoiling BAR has become my favorite .30-06.
I don't need any more big boomers.....well almost. I do still have a 9.3x62. I'm not sure why?

You lost me at "not lever action big bores". Yawn. What lost you Mike? My bad comma usage? Would it be that I wasn’t looking to hear about a Lever Actions big bore that can’t hit anything past 200 yards Consistently? Take a nap, you seem tired and we’ll chat about magnums for a bit...😎
