I have a steel receiver BLR in 358 Win and prefer it over the aluminum one in 7mm/08 I once owned. As already mentioned by someone else, I can't put a finger on why but suspect it has more to do with balance as that 358 just seems to carry well in the hand. It even handles pretty nicely one handed the few times I shoot that way.

I'll have to check out the manufacture date as I have 2 extra magazines for that gun. At the prices mentioned I could be talked out of them.

All of the short action magazines in the .308 family are interchangeable .308, .243 ,7mm08 and .358. All will work in the BLR.

I was helping a friend sight in four of his BLRs ( one for each family member ) while I was working up handloads for my 280AI. One of the BLRs in 243 made my handloads look second rate and that was with factory 243s and an old Redfield picket fence post scope.
