I ordered a saddle mount for my Browning Gold from Optics Planet on the 20th and still havent seen it or received any tracking/shipping information.

I will never use them again, they are that slow. A lot of times the item is not in stock . I have used them about 1/2 dozen times.

In my experience, it varies widely, one of the reasons I do not use them unless there is absolutely no other option. I've had things shipped quickly but also had multiple instances where an item did not ship for 2-3 weeks. And getting an answer on the status of an overdue order is an exercise in frustration.

CameraLand and EuroOptic get the bulk of my business. Both have proven to be utterly reliable and both will go above and beyond for you, even in situations they wouldn't have to.

Just went and clicked on product availability, had not noticed that option before. Says ships in 3-5 months.

I will be calling them on Tuesday for a refund.

Just called and cancelled, no questions asked.

Won't be looking at their site again, don't need anything that bad.

Yeah, they got me on that once too. I bought some Leica Trinovids for a cheap price, and the next day received a call from customer service telling me my order would be shipped in approximately 4 months. I got a refund.

Never had a problem with them or my orders, matter of fact, just had a bud use them and send me a new Nikon Black RangeX rangefinder, have had it about two months, hell of a little rangefinder, haven't took it anywhere, but have ranged up to 1800 yards right off the back porch at the farm.

Sounds good but I don't see a saddle mount on their site.

Might be luck of the draw; I don't doubt it could happen. But, i've never had to wait for opticsplanet given it was listed "in stock", usually they even list a qty in stock. Otherwise, below the price, there's a link for "check availability' and it tells you what to expect. You have to watch their prices, granted. Some deals, some not. The vastness of their offerings is attractive.

On the other hand, many here fawn over cameraland, but am now on "poor experience" #3 with them. That, too, could be luck of the draw.

Bought some Talley rings, It took them several days to decide they didn’t have them. I’m done with them.

There has been a delay in every single transaction I have had with them except a return which was seamless. They use UPS which then delivers it to the local USPS which is snail slow.

I've used them a lot. This is the experience you get when they don't have the item in stock. Price is what drives my business with them, and not having immediate need. Plus, you can negotiate price, if you like their terms better.

It's best to check the availability if their site shows low stock. Other than that, no problems. If you call them, they'll often budge on the price.

I never saw the "Click for availability" button until I logged back in to see what the deal was.

Most places either show In stock or if out they tell you whether you can back order or not. My bad for not noticing though but I am still not waiting 3-5 months.

They aren’t lighting fast by any means but they sometimes have unique items or prices. They are reputable and stand behind their products. I’d prefer to buy from Doug but sometimes he doesn’t carry it or have it on hand to ship or is considerably higher priced.

The only place slower than Optics Planet is their "super special members site", DVOR. To make it even worse, DVOR charges a flat $9.99 shipping (but additional orders on the same day ship free. whoop-de-freakin-do!). They also do not offer free returns even if the product is defective.

I believe DVOR only exists to give some marketing genius a place to make "clever" puns in item descriptions.
