Jesus said to forgive your neighbor seventy times seven, meaning that there's no limit. Forgiving someone who's wronged you doesn't help them. They still have to face the Lord. It does, however, make you free. You can live without the resentment eating away at you. Jesus's words were a command, not a suggestion.

Mebbe Lyle knew how to hit the spot. Lmao.......you fuggin' clown KW! Too much family hate going around. My old man “threw men under the bus” when I was 12. ( His little sis’s exact words). He Went to live with his “other” family. No schidt!!!! Finest thing I ever saw was my mom taking his hand and forgiving him on his deathbed for everything. And she thanked him for two fine chillin! ( Thats all they had when they was together, so I do count as one of them!!!!). All this hate should be water under bridge. Unnecessry. Ive seen what destruction hate can do.

Not everyone is lucky in the family lottery. Just because they are sperm donors doesn't mean any deserve the respect.
A mother that abandons her kids is a rare animal, luckily.
Fug her. Maybe this was a form of closure for the kids?

I guess a good 'Christian' would have lied.
They spent a good chunk of change on that listing. How about not saying anything instead?
That way they don't have to deal with the constant 'So sorry about your mother' fake shiet from everyone in town.
I wouldn't think that they would have much to deal with since anyone that knew them should know of their estrangement from their mother.
Hence 'stupid' sheit. Cuzz 'Christians' always feel the need to say something.
If the need to say something could be equated to being a Christian, you would be the [bleep] pope.

Well, it was nicer than the one I would've written for my mother. We didn't even do an obit at all (the whole "if you can't say anything nice"). And, yes, it was sad, but entirely of their (her's and my mother's) own doing. That's right RyanTX , some people don't know what it's like to be raised in a scumbagass family . Their words '' just don't worry about it - or think about it '' words of advise from someone who doesn't know squat are meaningless . I know people who are/were pampered their whole life and seem to know how everybody else grew up - they think everybody was pampered like they were .

That scenario has probably been duplicated multiple times at every trailer park in America....
at least around here I bet ya multiple times in a couple of years....

The kids were raised by the same people that raised the worthless "mother". They must not have done a very good job on their second chance of child rearing.
Amazing how many grand-parents are raising their grandkids. And doing it just as poorly as the first time.
Just how would one explain that your mom ditched you for greener pastures, but you should love her and hope she comes home to become a June Cleaver?
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

Apparently so. I got that from Foxnews. Here's what Snopes said about it. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Gazette‘s general manager acknowledged that the obituary had been paid for by the family but didn’t shed any light on the reasoning behind the paper’s decision to publish it:

It may be a closure issue.
But those kids need to put the past in the past, and if not forgive her, then at least accept what has happened in the past, and commit to looking to the future, and not letting the mother control it any more.
Too much energy, time and effort are wasted on sorry SOB's from the past.

Some people can let chit go, others let it eat them up. I hear you. I'm sure you'd be sipping coffee on the anniversary of your daughter's rape

It’s interesting that you, one of the most obviously judge mental and angry persons here, once again judges a whole group by what must be some personal experience with a few.. It's interesting that you feel the need to send me condescending PM"s, all in the guise of being a good Christian. I hope you find the Holy Spirit shoved right up your holy ass. It's pieces of shiet like you that chap my ass. That you can't figure out why I 'judge' a bunch of you, based on your sanctimonious PM's, show's your level of dumbphuckness. That you can't figure out that I don't bash ALL Christians, just the GOOD ones like you, is never not funny. That you will surely burn in HELL if you don't change your ways, brings me even more laughter.

Ironically, it was probably the NICE version that was printed. I'll leave it to the family to decide what is best for the family. But I'm not a good Christian like a bunch of pieces of shiet.

Obituaries don't cost much. Papers do it more as a public service.
Oh, yeah? Try listing one in the Murderapolis/Shot Paul area some time and lemme know if you hadda take out a loan... Rags like the Red Star charge an arm and a leg for each line. I live in Iowa. When my mother passed about 4 years ago, I put her obituary in several papers in Iowa. I don't believe I spent over 100 bucks for all of them together. That's what I was going by. Neither are they mandatory, so were her kids spending big bucks to spite her? It's just a weird situation all the way around and one I'm glad to have no part in.

My grandmother's obit, which was fairly short and to the point, was over $500.
Charging that kind of money for an obit should be against the law.
