Wow, that would be a very impressive wound channel

cool, anyone notice that in the 308 one that the end of the gel block has a face on it?

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Two years ago I shot a elk cow broadside, the range finder said it was 300 yards, with a TSX 180 gr .30-06. It hit the front front shoulder (it wasn't the best shot I ever made). The bullet proceeded through the elk exiting the backside shoulder. The backside shoulder was completely shattered. Yup, Barnes makes one fine bullet.

Would be cool if they showed a comparison against some of the other good bullets, but that wound channel was pretty sweet.

Last Sept I ordered some TSXs directly from Barnes. A DVD was included in the package. It showed other bullets hitting ballistic gelatin and a comparison in penetration. A great sales video, worth acquiring.

It looks like the 308 TSX continues to spin as it went through and exited the gelatin. I can remember reading all sorts of theories on a bullet quickly stopping to rotate once it mushrooms and goes through media or an animal. Now I wonder about those theorists. Anyone else remember reading about this?

That's what struck me the most. The rotations are just picture perfect, and it looks to me like those "cutting petals" actually DO increase the total wound area.

AWSOME photography, either way. JMO, Dutch.

Impressive for sure. Thanks for posting the link.

I think I'd be more interested in the same footage with a 2000fps impact velocity though...

No wow factor here.

When working for Winchester ammunition I shot 223's shooting FMJ's into hundreds of gel blocks and had the same results of what you see on that video.

ANY high power rifle will do this and knock that gel block off the table.

All Barnes has to do is add a little more water to the animal fat gel content and get a more explosive effect. They can easily manipulate the results any way they want.

Barnes, what a joke.

Only 9 out of 10?

Their marketing is a joke. They are trying to sell you on a bullet that performs just like any other bullet on video.

You could take a 180 FMJ or a 180 anythng they will perform just the same as the Barnes.

No wow factor to it.

So, you are saying the Barnes TSX is to much bullet for Jell-O hunting?
Standard cup & cores are alright for larger Jell-Os?
Would not the pass thru with the Barnes be better choice as you would have a gelatin trail to track?

My question is about shooting grapes. I see it worked fine on seedless grapes, but what happens if you hunt the seeded kind? I like to take a seed out with the vitals. It seems to drop them faster, and keeps them from charging! I wouldn't want my seeded grape bullet coming apart at the wrong time! grin

I don't know that their marketing is a joke or dirtball-ish.

For the average Joe it's pretty cool to watch and maybe they learn something about hydrostatic shock too. Who doesn't use their shock and awe cool stuff marketing for the public, the company that goes under I'd say.

It's exactly what you called it.... Marketing. I don't think that makes them a bad company.
