I've used Balsamic vinegar for pickling eggs.

They turn out a dark, almost black color.

Took some of them to work to share with the guys.

Boss came over and ask what we were eating.

I showed him some and told him, pickled sheep nuts!

Thought he was going to puke!

They really were pretty good, just odd looking.
