Thinking of buying a 22LR/22Mag revolver. The Ruger Single Six Convertible Hunter has me interested because it looks similar to my Super Blackhawk Hunter. Anyone own one or shot one? What did you think?

Thanks RDW. Do you shoot with iron sights or did you mount any optics?

I had one for a short while. Did a trigger job, threw a 2X Leupold on it, and headed to the range with a pile of .22 mag and .22 long rifle ammo. I came away incredibly disappointed. Great looking gun, didn't shoot for crap. Since I had a 10" Contender barrel in .22 mag and a Ruger Mk III target that both shoot extremely well, I had no use for an inaccurate single action. I fussed with it a little more then sold it.
I have thought about another try. They really are good looking, good feeling guns, but ... to me, a gun has to shoot well, not just look good. 2-1/2 to 3 inches at 25 yards, scoped, isn't useful in a rimfire. It has to be sub inch at that distance.

What did you think? Gary, I had a Ruger single action. It had both cylinders. It seemed ok with the Magnums not so much with the long rifles. I think the lr might be just a little smaller diameter. Got rid of the Ruger and bought a S&W 48. My first one had a 6 inch barrel but after shooting a friends 8 3/8 barrel , I had to have one. So I traded with our old friend Ladd . I carried that 48 many miles in my Jeep. Usually load 3 CCI snake shoots and 3 hp’s. Hasbeen

I don't own the Hunter but do own the 9.5" convertible.
It is one of the most accurate rimfire handguns I have ever owned.

I have a hunter that I rarely shoot. Seems heavy for a rimfire especially with a scope. Not sure if I have ever fired the mag cylinder
I am one gun away from happy

I need to say, I'm not a pistol shooter. John Holliger and son, White Oak Armament, visited the first of April for hog hunting. John and his 10 year old son set up some little metal spinners for fun.John and his son used their Singe Six revolvers. I was really impressed as they just destroyed the little spinners as I fubbed along shooting them with a custom RF rifle.

I have the fixed sight model that's as accurate as any of my other rimfire handguns and that includes a target model MKIV 45. I use it on the trapline so I've never used the WMR cylinder. Here's the model I have. https://ruger.com/products/newModelSingleSixConvertible/specSheets/0629.html
