Not sure what NPR has to do with it. They didn't kick anyone out. The restaurant owner did, and more power to him. He probably doesn't want to bake cakes for gay weddings either. Ya'll for that, right? What goes around, comes around.

All of the Mexicans and Central Americans that I know are solid hard working folks with very conservative values. The local Mexican restaurant put the pizza joint next to it out of business, and a is putting a hurting on the multi-generational burger restaurant across the street. Good food, good service, at a fair price. Hands down my favorite place to eat in our little burg. Excellent carnitas en salsa verde.

Wherever that quote is from, is wrong. Black is a pigment. White is all other colors blended. Proven easily with a simple child's toy. Take a paper plate (stiff one) and color all hues except black in equal portions. Punch 2 holes and loop a string through it. Wind both halves of the loop in the same direction, and pull. The plate spins, the colors blend, and the outcome is off white.

Being as food is derived from farms...liberals should not EAT period!

Tell ya what, NPR...I'll stop eating at Mexican restaurants when all socialist liberals stop eating anything grown by capitalist, conservative farmers and ranchers. Or shipped by independent truckers. Or sold in for profit supermarkets. Or served in entrepreneur-owned restaurants.

It appears that nobody here actually read the NPR article. It talks about the disconnect between being anti-immigrant, both legal and illegal, and eating at any restaurant. About 70% of back kitchen staff in major metropolitan areas self identify as immigrants.

Maybe all those anti-immigrant folks should cook their own food at home, and pick all their produce and do all the stoop labor, and not stay in hotels, either. We need immigration reform and a solid guest worker program.. We should not be separating 8 month-old infants from their parents, but should instead do what we can to improve conditions in broken countries to stem the tide of asylum seekers.

BTW, did you see that the tariffs on soy beans will preferentially impact Trump voters? Poetic justice, dontcha think? Voting for stupid hurts.

Yeah yeah yeah and mothers shouldn't be sending their four year old children hundreds of miles alone to a foreign land with nothing but their phone number printed on the front of their shirt. What we are suffering at present and for a long time now is a migrant invasion and congress has allowed it and Obama and Kerry invited it. We should ship them all back to Mexico City and tell them to sort it out since they propagated it.

I think any business owner has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. But they have to be willing to pay the price for their actions.

Any small business owner who refuses to serve people based on their political leanings is too stupid to have a successful business.

Always have thought it ridiculous how people complain about illegals and then there's always a crowd at the Mexican restaurants. You know the kitchens are full of illegals. That is why I don't eat at Mexican restaurants. I didn't need anyone else to tell me to not throw wood on the fire.
