they're stringless, in the shell, and the peas are small.
what's a quick way to cook, and be somewhat edible, even good?
boil & salt; stirfry? or something different?

back in the day on the truck farm, and we had a garden, we grew a ton of sweet (English) peas. we'd shell them, and boil with a bit of salt, black pepper and butter.
delicious!
these are sugar snaps, with hulls from the local kroger. i've never eaten any like that. i guess just blanch with salt & pepper, and throw on a bit of melted butter.
they're tender or so it seems. we've eaten that kind of peas in a chinese concoction a time or two.

Easy way.
Wash, put in microwave safe bowl, cover tight.
Nukeavate till soft. Butter, salt, pepper.
Or steam if it makes you feel better.
Same thing though.

boil & salt; stirfry? or something different? Quick stir fry. Light touch of oil in pan, heat, rinse pea shells in cold water, shake lightly, keeping excess water which will then create more of a steam type stir fry cooking method. Place peas in pan, quickly add small pinch of salt, and a tiny pinch of ground ginger or a small piece of fresh ginger, shake or toss with spoon on medium high for 4 to 5 minutes. I prefer them to be slightly tender with a small snap of crispness left in them.

Yeah, that's why Gramma didn't have many peas when a certain little kid was around.
I would steam to the point most people would consider halfway done. Never boil. In the stir fry is classic but don't overcook. Peas can't take it. Microwaving (with a splash of water) is about the same as steaming but the difference in time from just right to overcooked isn't much.

Hey Gus, how were the peas? What cooking method did you decide on? Almost posted this on the campfire. Now wouldn't that have confused them!

Toss in olive oil, season with your favorite spice . S&P works . We like a lemon pepper blend. Place on a cookie sheet. 400 degree oven . 5 to 6 minutes turning frequently .

We steam in one of those Zip-Lock steamer bags the amount of time it states on the bag. Add a bit of butter, salt, and pepper. Served hot and crisp.
