Doesn't really feel too bad today despite the numbers. Was just out doing some work in the garage, thermometer said 102 something, didn't seem too bad. Our high price electricity is between 3 and 6 pm so we run the temp down to 75 beforehand, let it coast up into the low 80s, feels pretty comfy with the fans running. Rather have the heat than the humidity.

Well come on down and try it without down here.....

If I were building a house here again in N.W. Ct I would install the same kind of window AC's.

You do realize that one high seer AC unit would eat way less electricity then 3 window units?

grew up in an uninsulated house in Iowa that never had anything more than the windows open in the summer and a wood stove in the winter. 100 degree to minus 20 degree is the climate here. When I was a kid you would try to go to sleep sweating so much that your bed would be soaked and would end up going outside and sleep on the porch to get some breeze. AC and LP heat is a blessing I will never be without no matter what the cost. Had window AC from 24 until I was 55 and will tell you central AC is the only way to go

I just turned off the AC in the dinning room closet as it was getting too cold for me here in the living room where it's 78 now. That AC cools the kitchen, dinning room, living room and some of the front door foyer. It's 72F outside now.

If I were building a house here again in N.W. Ct I would install the same kind of window AC's.

No, Prove it!

How can the one single AC running in the middle bedroom cost more to run than central air??

And how much is the initial cost of central air vs a couple of window units ?
