Anyone tie spinners?

I build my own "Pop gear" for trolling.
That includes the spinners that run behind the blades.

One of my spinners on the boat seat, under the trout.

I have made some inline spinners like that,but find I have never made one that works as well as the Mepps I prefer.
I do make small spinner baits that work just fine on warm water species.

When I was a kid growing up we used to troll with what we called "Christmas Tree Spinners" like that and I often wondered why they attracted trout.
Maybe appeared to be a feeding frenzy.

The big blade "pop gear" rigs do look and sound like a school of trout in a frenzy. They create enough flash and sound to bring fish from a distance..
20" of leeder and a small spinner or hook and worm trailing behind.

I made spinners of all kinds some years ago. I was able to duplicate any Mepps or Vibrax spinner for 1/4 the cost of a factory one. And they all worked the same as the expensive ones. I built my own jigs and spoons too. Cast my own sinkers out of free used wheelweights.
