He seems to have bad luck in the outdoors. In one of his videos he relates a story of being out in the desert shooting with some friends when a truck load of men driving through the area opens fire on them from several hundred yards away for no apparent reason.

when people become belligerent and aggressive at a campsite things can go south fast. I read the article and you never know sometimes what triggers people but many times they get angry for seemingly small things. Other times they just think it might be fun. Wonder if the mills guy was drinking.
