Played with a variety of toys yesterday and today . Yesterday played with two 30-06's , one 700 Long Range and a 700 Buck Masters . testing some loads and coal's with 200gr SGK's , got some real good groups right off with the LR , had to play with COAL on the BM , but it shot great in the end .
Then loaded some 308's for the Ruger Scout , and some more 30-06 for the two Remington's . The two loads for the Scout both shot right at an inch , was happy with that . Plus using the Burris scout set up , 2-7 .
The two Remington's were shooting three shot groups 5/8" - 3/4" , again using 200 SGK .
Then broke out the 03-A3 , was shooting three inch groups with it , but have a hard time seeing the front post clear any more .
Then the Swiss K-31 with a Leupold 2x pistol scope on a scout set up , tried the 174gr PPU and the Graf 165gr . These guns are great
Shot some two inch groups with the PPU , but the Graf shot four thre shot groups well into an inch .
Decided to call it a day , cool front blew in and wind got up , unseasonably cold for this time of year . Went to a family get together in the mountains , everybody was chilled , after weeks of high 90's and 80's , 60's felt pretty chilly .
Lots of good food , and relaxed at home had a couple sips of some peach , hell yeah ! Good weekend .

Did u chrono the 200 SGKs? I have some of those I bought to load in a 300 mag. I don't have the magnum anymore but still have the 3 30/06's. I wondered what velocity an 06 could push them and if they would expand at long range at 06 velocities?

No sir , I don't have a chrono . But according to the reloading data , 53.7gr IMR4350 should be in the mid 2500's . The LR rifle had a shorter throat than the BM , also the LR has a 26 inch barrel and the BM a 24" barrel . Would be interesting to see what it actually produced .
Both rifles were loaded to the same powder charge , just different COAL's . The BM took a little playing to get proper COAL that this charge and rifle liked .
As for game performance , can't say . Have yet to use them in the field , hoping to get that chance this season .
