Just wondering who else has this caliber. I have Nosler M48 and it is shooting fast over my chronograph.
Pushing a 129 gr accubond just over 3700 fps. with reloads and a 140 at 3600. Faster than my 7mmstw.

Nosler 26 sounds very interesting and i just might need to build one ? I like that velocity 3700 fps with a 127 gr. bullet ! some of these keyboard boys I imagine will disagree with you ,just ignore them, these boys just punch keyboards and don`t shoot much anyway.

Just make sure you put a Bunx barrel on it.

It's extremely important And if you keep talking about hunting and shooting, mannlicker will have you on ignore so fast...your head will spin around twice ๐

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, Iโd rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

I load a grain under max of 869 with a 140 Ballistic tip. 3200 fps. Accurate, I would go with Accubonds if I was hunting elk or moose.

I have pics of the gun on the rest and the speed on the chrono. I just can't get them to load on here.
Gun shot and grouped well with both loads. If I remember right, the 129 bullet was 91.5 gr of 869, and using federal gold medal 215 primer. I think I loaded RL 33 with the 140, I will look and see.
It shot factory loads slower but were still faster than what Nosler states they will shoot.

I know the 6.5 badger will do 3600 with 140โs, with more powder

Headhunter...I own a 26N that I load for using H869 and Retumbo...You likely know you're exceeding pressure and velocities published by Nosler book recommendations for the 129g AB's. Your load data is more in line with a 100gr bullet.YMMV is all I will say on the barrel life cooking off rounds at those numbers. I am getting and happy with 3325 fps with 79.3 grains of Retumbo using 140gr Bergers VLD's. I changed over to Nosler 142gr ABLR bullets for hunting. Now, I am at a pedestrian speed of 3265 fps using 90 grains of H869. I'm a believer in (It's your rifle and your money.)...I have burned up a few barrels in my day. You will be a member of the new barrel needed club sooner than later....Welcome to the Club, in advance... Grin

How many gun pieces does a 129 at 3700 produce in that M48? Do they come with pre-fractured lines, so you have an idea how many, or is it just a "touch off a round and try to count later with my one good eye" sort of thing?

That's why they make those gun cleaning mats with the "Exploding Parts" so you can identify the pieces located across your debris field at the range. Grin.....

Just make sure you put a Bunx barrel on it. have you read your post at the bottom of the page ? walk a mile thing ? BRUX I know how to spell it, due to reading some of your previous posts I thought you either didn't know how to spell or you were using a brand of barrel I'd never heard of before. Oh and yes I have read my signature line, I typed it. What's my signature line have to do with any of this anyway?
