Are they worth $500? I found one in new condition, thinking about purchasing it. Seems like a well built beautiful firearm. Any comments welcome...

Enter 9422 Magnum in the search function. There will be a thread pop up named, Win 9422 XTR Price Question.

Jerry Jerry, I had one back in the early 90's. I have had a few more I could kick myself for selling.

This 9422M is an absolute fav of mine. I got it @ ‘88. It’s NEARLY pristine and I’ve hunted & shot it quite a bit. I looked far & wide to find a 9422 Wc to match it. Win didn’t make the 9422 in Wincam. (the last I knew).
I’m NOT a Win 94 fan but this 9422M is an exception to me.

I have a 1972 first year 9422. It is very happy living at my house.

ADDENDUM or Follow UP to huntsman22:
First, I 'speculate' your 9422 Wincam is a 22 Mag, correct? AFTER I went all the way to Fort Worth looking for a 9422 in Wc, I found out then, whatever year that was, Winchester didn't make the standard 94 22 with the Wc stock.
They might have changed that and I don't know it. ? ? ?
I just missed a good gun show but there'll be a better one w/in the next month. I'll start looking for a 9422M with 'uncheckered' walnut stocks. ? Would the stocks swap between a 9422 and 9422M ? I could see where they ? would AND ? would NOT.
You can PM me and we'll leave this thread alone.
Thanks
Jerry

If it's at a shop, you likely already missed it. Yes, that's a deal.

It's been 10 years or so ago, but I walked into a gunshop where they had a bargain barrel. Literally a wooden barrel full of mostly cheap single barrel shotguns and cheap 22's. But there was a 9422 XTR with checkered wood priced at $200 in there. I didn't have $200 in cash, but nearly dislocated my shoulder getting the credit card out. I still can't believe that rifle was mixed in with those guns. At the time around $350-$400 was the going price, but I've seen people asking $600+ for them recently.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.
