O.K., I know this has been brought up before but humor me. My old 35 year old razor just went toes up. I'm 81 so common sense says to me not to spend a bundle on one. Don't use it all the time but would like to get a pretty good shave when I do. It can be corded or rechargeable. Any advice will be appreciated.

I despise electric razors.

That is all.

I've occasionally tried electrics and was never happy. But the one I still have is a Braun. It's a very compact single-AA battery model I keep in my car glovebox in case I need an emergency shave. Strangely, it gives me a close, comfortable shave - a better one than any other electric I've tried, including Norelco. Not as good as a blade, but pretty darn good.

I have tried a bunch over the years and never found one that gives me a good shave. When traveling I have tried this one and find it works better than any high dollar shaver. When I am home i use a safety razor.
