Or as others call it an Elf Hearse. I just couldn’t pass on this car. Our friend, who just turned 77 bought it new in 1999. It still smells new. To me it has always looked like a jag e-type. She recently backed it into a telephone pole and that was addressed in the price. BMW only made 6291(only 3000 in US) of these cars and for the price, I had to get it. 43,400 on the odo and it runs like a striped ass ape.

Is that the 400+hp one? If so, that’s a screamer when you want it to be. Good catch.

Its a 3.2 s52 engine. 3000 lbs with 240 Hp. I’ve only ever seen one other and it was an s54 M coupe with the faster engine. I personally don’t need to go much faster although I do like the stop light acceleration.

To my mind, this is one of the least appreciated, but truly excellent, autos made in my adult lifetime. You have acquired a rare and fine jewel.

A BMW Z car with a LS swap has to be about as close to a 21st century Cobra as you can get.


Even with the stock motor, it looks like a ton of fun.

Interesting vehicle.

I have something of interest to car aficionados, day before yesterday nine black Mercedes diesel vehicles came through town on their way to Adelaide for the Arab conference taking place this week, six are standard but three were five ton armoured jobs.
The conference must be of some interest as the Australian Army also has a security presence, as a load came through last night that had to be on site by twelve midday.


The conference is vaguely interesting, but the Mercedes were absolutely titillating...a real wet dream.

Spent some time in college working on a couple of those, that my roommate had purchased..
for cheap due to needing work....still fun little toys, but not in the same league as the Beemer of Toddly's.
