Jim, I will say the various ethnic foods available in Dryden, Ontario make for some good chow.

Microwaved some White Castle frozen burgers.

Way better than I expected.

do they sell them down your way, in case I'm ever passing through on my way north from visiting down south?

Not dinner, but breakfast. From the hog we butchered couple weeks ago, salted the slab in the fridge with pepper, coriander, sage, sugar for 5-6 days. Ready for the smoker:

Smoked with pecan wood to internal temp of ~150F:

Set overnight in the fridge, sliced thin and ready for the pan this morning:

Hey Geno more than likely. Several sellers of Mexican Clay pottery up and down the valley. Last place I saw them was about 10 years ago at this place in Escalon

http://lopezimports.net/PlasterParis.html

You would want to call first.

There was a similar Mexican outdoor clay pottery store i frequented in the early 2000's in Sacramento but I believe they are closed.

Best bet for the Sacrmento region is to find places that import Mexican pottery and call around asking about "Asadors de Barro”

You can also order them direct from Mexico but that might take some extra language skills.

Get ahold of me if you do come down and ill see if i can help.

To add there are probably several places in Socal, AZ, NM and TX that sell them and have web sites. Might find a supplier in Norcal through them.

Well,........................ you picked on me once because of my Spanish syntax or something like that, so perhaps I better not call Mexico! laugh

The abuelita at the restaurant always gives me compliments though..................maybe she's just being nice to the gringo.

I'll keep my eye out for them if I ever (unwillingly) have to go to Suctomento again.

Thanks for the info.

Geno

Geno, are you discussing the BBQ pit/cooker I posted a pic of a week or so ago? If so and if you are looking for one I've got a few places locally I can check that have them at times. Not sure where you are located either...

If I'm way off base with the discussion ignore me...grin...

Breaded pork tenderloins in buns - ketchup, mustard, dill pickle, and onion - Bellowing Port mushrooms fried in butter with Lawry's sprinkled on and topped with Mozzarella cheese to melt - doctored up pork and beans - homemade sauerkraut salad - cottage cheese doctored with green onion, chives, buttermilk, and salt and pepper - fried cauliflower.

Everyone's stuff sounds yummy.

I just put a no recipe (thrown together) casserole in the oven 20 minutes or so ago. Church ladies left a bunch of large zucchini laying around, I picked an eggplant as I'm not sure if they'll make it to the morning even with the cover, supposed to be 28 or so, a half a ham steak diced, some noodles, a can of Costco diced tomatoes, some cheeses, some of my "Italian blend" of homegrown herbs. No iddea how it will come out, but everything that went in is good.

GregW, nope, not off base, PM on the way.
