Bummer. Rest In Peace, Bandit. My kids watched Smoky and the Bandit last weekend for the first time. As you would expect, they loved it. My boy is now obsessed with 70s era Trans Ams. When I was a kid, I was sure I'd eventually have Bandit's Trans Am. Came close once.

I hope he did. Starting about the time of Smokey and the Bandit, they were together for five years. Even Burt said, stupidest thing he ever did was to schitt in that nest. He recently stated his respect and care for Sally to this day.

Was doing 65 in a 55 on IH 10....  Hell, the speed limit is 80 there now...

I didn't like mcain…….glad he is out of politics......but to say a [bleep] actor is a bigger deal than someone who was a pow......is crazy. guys here talk down to others who like sports figures…..or singers....or etc....are going on like burt was their old drinking buddy. also wasn't ole burt a demorat…...cant like anybody who isn't a repub.…….bob

Deliverence and Longest Yards were my favorites. W W and the Dixie Dance Kings was good as well.

at one time he owned the carlton cigarettes family estate in loganville, ga. lot's of local girls got invited to attend his parties. i never was invited, but did drive by the place on the way south to macon many many times. a big white mansion on a hill. later he sold it, and the whole place has been parcelized. I remember that place. Not surprised the local "talent' got free tours.
