Thanks for all the thanks, but really, I didn't post when I first retired because it was more a labor of love than any type of burden. I gave it my all, but am certain I got more than I gave. It was amazing.

And, for the record, those kids have this. They were amazing, focused, and an honor to mentor and serve with. I can't say enough positive stuff about them.

I decided to post the other day more to start a conversation about adventure biking.

I think you're really going to like that DCT.

I discovered automatic transmissions on motorcycles 10 years ago via a 650 Burgman. "Twist and go" motorcycles will spoil you for any other type very quickly.

That's the best motorcycle forum on the net. I used to be a moderator there until my bum shoulder forced me off motorcycles.

David, thank you very much for your service and congratulations on your retirement. I love the Africa Twin. Should your travels ever bring you down this way, shoot me a message. We'll stir up some good food and maybe a good fishing trip.

Paul,

I'll see if I can sneak down some time.

Google Maps says only 2,300+ miles one way.

Maybe a long weekend?

Seriously, I look forward to riding down some time and meeting you.

Congratulations again, and thanks for your service.

Enjoy the downtime as much as you said you enjoyed the service.
