Anyone tried a short barreled 6cm, 18-20” ? I’m wondering what a guy could get out of 90-95s in a short tube?

I had a 20" Benchmark #3 Tikka 6 CM that another member owns now. I'll [bleep] him back outta it one day....

105 AMaxes ran 2985 with H4350 and 3035 with R26.
105 HPBTs 2915 with H4350.
108s were 3030 with H4350.
87 VMaxes ran 3122 H4350.

FWIW I'm running the 108s at 3158 with R26 and Alpha brass out of 26" barrel on the match rig. Different purpose of course, but I'll take short and handy any day on a hunting rig.

I've only got (3) 243 Kreedmire's,though none of 'em have ever seen a Factory Round, let alone digested one. Barrels run from 22" to 26" and all will scoot 108's to 3050fps. Others likely gun things warmer than I,as I'm more than content to let BC work it's inherent magic.

Sugar 110's never showed me a fhuqking thing.

Nor has RDF's,though admittedly...I've only shot both in multiple 270's,BR's,Grendels,243 Kreedmire's,243 Win SALAMI's,243 Win AYE-Eyes,6-284 and Twat-Six. 108's shined in all of 'em. Hint.

What do a 243 Kreedmire do,that a 243 Win can NOT? Simply whistle greater BC's,at like COAL and it just "happens" to roll over the counter in platforms wearing 8" or better RPM. Boolits matter wayyyyyyy more than headstamps. Hint.

I tend to default to .243" Hornie 105HPBT's,in a goodly sized Herd of 6mm bore sized platforms. Their BC is on the 108's heels and they are rugged bastards, which do not suck, though I don't shoot 'em much over a 3400fps launch in anything.

They's 3rd from left,with a 108 alongside. The 224." 88 ELD's BC is better than both and is a literal Game Changer(2nd from left,alongside a .224" 75 ELD).

[Linked Image]

Tough to beat Alpha brass and '17,whether talking 22 Kreedmire, 243 Kreemire or 264 Kreedmire,if only because I shoot 'em all.

The 22 Kreedmire with 88's at 3250fps,is a stupid BAD Bitch.

So I guess the short answer is nothing because you can get any twist you want when you order a barrel. I personally shoot the Berger 105 veld in my target gun with an 8 twist. I do have a few 108 that I will give a try. Not sure if a 6br will push them hard enough though. Thanks for the Hint. Ed k

Funny that a thread about factory ammo with 108's brings you to this conclusion.

You MOST certainly are guessing, which will only come as a "surprise" to you. Congratulations?!?

Do tell about the "particulars" of this High Zoot "target gun with an 8 twist",mainly because it will be funnier than fhuqk. Do not "forget" COAL,throat geometry, receiver type,base/mounts,glass,stock,barrel make and the like. Hint.

6mm Booger Highbirds are unknowed to me. Hint. Laughing!

Though in fairness,I don't shoot 'em much past 3250fps ala LFB(Brux 8" at 23"),Atlas DBM'd,AM binderless mags,Marty's lugged/inclined/clipslotted rail,Pappy's Reupold Stop, yada, yada, yada. Nor have I gunned 'em in 270,BR,Grendel,243 Win SALAMI,243 Win AYE-Eye,LFB or Twat-Six. They are farrrrrrrrr too Zookie to be taken seriously. Hint. Laughing!

Never pointed a BR and 105's at Critters either. Hint. Laughing!

Bart' 8" in a contour duped at 20",wearing a shortened shank and prolly "some" inclination, for a 6x MQ. Best fire up Google,so you can nod your head like you "understand". LAUGHING!

Be sure to fire up your Imagination and Pretend,so you can "tell" me "more". Laughing!

It's never been difficult to cypher, who shoots and who don't. Hint.

GOOD talk.

Bless your heart.

Laughing!.................................

I guess I wasn't all that clear.

Was looking for speeds of Hornady factory ammo 6 Creedmoor 108's.
