anyone try out the Savage 110 lightweight storm?
I see Savage dropped the model 16 lightweight hunter, I had one in 223 that shot factory ammo into .5 moa and 243 that went just under 1" at 100 yards.
The 110 Storm light weight is the same weight but seems to have a updated the stock.
Thinking a 6.5 Creedmoor would be sweet light gun for a third of the cost of my Fieldcrafts.

Looks like Savage is trying to compete with TC's Dimension for homeliest rifle of all time.

Stock might be a little ugly, but if those fit options amount to something...then maybe it's not so ugly.

I've got one in 7-08 that shoots really well. It's ugly but it's 6lbs with a 6x leupold

However, the stock adjustability on the Savage Storm has my interest. And they are available in Left Hand. Preference would be for a 24" medium weight barrel similar to the Savage Predator to give it some weight forward balance.

Man, I hope they make them in lefty, as this would be a less pricy option to the lefty Browning micro Hunter my ol lady has her eye on. 243, creed, or 7mm-08 would all work.

Plenty of Left Hand .243's and 7mm-08's available on Gun Broker. For some reason, Savage is only offering 6.5 CM's in Right Hand. Curious...

The lightweight doesn't have the adjustable stock. It's kinda ugly but if fits really well. Balances well and hits what you aim at. No complaints other than the magbox could be better. Patrick

Never seen one, but the website says that even though it does not have the adjustable stock, it is adjustable for length of pull.
I think it would be perfect for a deer-hunting .223 that I could share with my grandkids.

Except they list the 223 as a pound heavier. 6.5 pounds it says. I’d rather have an XBolt with the SSA (super short action) at that weight, or I’m sure there’s others at that weight also.

Took a look at one on the way home. GANDER Outdoors is pretty much a ghost town, but anyway. Not a bad looking rig. There's plenty of float for sure. I think you could fit two barrels in the channel.
Eh.....

Damn shame they are discontinuing the lightweight. I have one in 223 and 6.5 Ilovebuttsex. They are both very accurate and really pleasant to tote afield.

They are getting rid of the Lightweight hunter and introducing the Lightweight Storm. Same rifle just with the adjustable stock.
