This has been my experience too, a world of difference in felt recoil with 300 grain .45 Colt +P Buffalo Bullet factory loads.

Me, too, and my hands are not large at all.

Thanks, Max. After reading down to your post I understand what I need to do!

I like both the Bisley & standard. Each have their purpose.

To me the Bisley comes into play for really hard-recoiling stuff-above standard 44 Mag's. The Bisley grip reminds me of double action recoil.

However, when I would shoot my .500 Maximum (with a Huntington modified and gripped Bisley grip frame) off the bench, the only time the trigger guard would make contact with my knuckle is if I didn't use enough grip tension. Otherwise, it wouldn't hit my knuckle at all. Doesn't seem like it would work, but it makes a world of difference.

I prefer the Bisley grip. But not the current factory grip scales that Ruger puts on. To me they are too thin and have 90 degree edges along the grip frame.
I like the Hogue gunfighter grip.
I am sure, made to fit grips are the best way to go, from the reports that I have had.

You’re supposed to be moose hunting.

Like nearly everyone else has said, "make mine a Bisley". To me, they handle recoil so much better than the standard plow handle grip frame.
