Can't say I've ever seen a right hand bolt but left hand magzine port. Story?
Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it.

bwinters It doesnt have a magzine. Its a single shot. You work the bolt with your right hand. Feed shells in and out with your left. Your not reaching across the gun and fumbling around blind, trying to get shells in and out. Its much faster than a conventional right bolt right port single shot. These days, most run dual ports. Left load right eject. But I have had this action, for a very long time. dave

Classic LG long range gun. Excellent action too. I've owned quite a few Pandas, they just work.

Dave, I love the 300SAUM. Yes, I've had several left port and right eject port receivers. I started with a Panda, Teddy, Grizzly, Farley, 3 Stillers, actually 4 as I won a BR rifle at the Cactus shoot several years ago, Shilen, Benchmaster, and 2 Bats. If I started over I would go back to a Panda with a drop port.

Looks nice! Teddy action. They stopped making them about 1991 or so. 1M stock. https://www.kelbly.com/stocks-kelbly-1m.html The thing on the end of the stock is called a Bump Buster. From Texas. It works.Actually has a hydraulic cylinder inside it with springs.. http://bumpbuster.blogspot.com/ The big hunk of steel butt plate is just an attempt to get the weight up. In hindsight I could have ordered a stock with more weight... krieger barrel. 30 cal 1-11 twist 5r .308-.300 dia.Finish at 28 inches.Fluted Its a copy of a Obyermeyer AMU+ 1.25 dia 2 inch shank 1.025 at 28 inch finish. Vias Brake Jewell 2oz trigger from 1989.. Vortex 10-60. In Kelbly's 25 MOA rings. Its holding up..for now.... dave

As I remember. It would have been August or September of 1988. I ordered two Stolle Teddy actions from Kelbly's Inc. One with a PPC bolt face and one with .308 bolt face. Both RBLP. I got them in early March of 1989. Serial numbers 8908 up top and 8909..which is sitting over at Kelbly's Inc. right now... George kelbly would not ship them to me.I had to drive over there and pick them up. Seem to remember paying 1450.00 for the both of them...without triggers... One was a 13.5 pound 6mm PPC built by Bob kingsberry of Marienville Pa. I shot it for awhile in primer paint and later sent it over to a guy by the name of Chuck Dallesandro for a red candy apple paint job. It ended up as a glue in.And I wish it hadn't. Was a dammed fine shooting and looking rifle.
8909 was built by Clarence Hammonds into a heavy 22 Cheetah bag gun. It had a 1.25 Lilja bull barrel and gray paint job with about 10 coats of clear on it. One of the last times I shot it, I ran a 5 shot group through the crono at 4280 fps. It printed a honest .250 for 5 at 100. Scary poop. My best shot on a chuck was just a tad over 650 yards.
I wasnt using either one and decided to turn both into 1000 yard BR rifles. It kinda hurt to tear them down and start over. But there going to see alot more action now
Tom Meredith of TM Stockworks got them unglued for me And Randy at Accurate Rifleworks built the 300 SAUM. 8909 is still a pile of parts. 308 and PPC bolt faces on Stolle actions are coned. Mag bolt faces are flat. What got the ball rolling was a call to Kelbly's and asking if I could get a replacement bolt. The answer was yes. The next question was if i could get a replacement bolt with a mag bolt face. Again the answer was a yes.. The next question was if i could run a mag on a Teddy? Again the answer was a yes.. Not to shabby when you can send out a 30 year action and get a new replacement bolt. Kelbly's Inc. is tops.

Too bad Charlie has passed at a relatively young age. Visited with him many times at the Super shoot "Chuck Dallesandro"
