Like clockwork!! Well done!
I've transitioned to flat(er) runners from Altra, so I've gave thought to their Neoshell hikers. But, I do like the looks/specs on the Tors.

How are you liking the 147s? I’ve found the 147s along with 140 VLDs and 139 Scenars all shoot exceptional and it seems a toss up for choosing a hunting load. Haven’t heard as much about the 147s on game though.

I've backpack hunted in the Altra Lone Peak Neoshell Mid as well. There's a little less to it, lower stack height, which can be nice. There's more synthetic material so a little less durable in rocky country.

Haven’t heard as much about the 147s on game though. I've only killed an antelope and deer with them, so time will tell. I can always go back to the 139 scenar if needed, I've killed a pile of stuff with it and agree it's been user friendly.

Sounds like the shoulder issue is something you've dealt with before, old injury? Beauty of a buck.

Great buck per usual! That is some beautiful country you have there.
Glad the shoulder popped back in.
Best of luck with the elk....

There's more synthetic material so a little less durable in rocky country. Thanks for the info. Looks like they're being discontinued, so the price drop makes them attractive. The updated version uses eVent instead of Neoshell and not sure if that's an issue or not. My use would be more for daily wear and hunting here, so rocks wouldn't be an issue. I'm a be concerned with the lack of stack/cushioning. I'm fat and not sure I'd like that much feel underfoot...

I've recently come to regard Neoshell as a lesser mousetrap, particularly for hard wearing things like footwear. Initial performance is awesome, but durability is poor.

I know you have liked it in other applications/gear. Mostly I just need to keep my feet dry from dew while crossing a pasture or running the chains for my kids football. Hard use, I don't see as much of it as I'd like...
