OK! Nothin over 200 yards and deer only as you say, then I'd go with the 7/08 rather than the 308.

They are ballistic twins. Out to 500 yards with the best loads the trajectory is within 3" and energy numbers are within 30 ft lbs. Recoil is within 1 ft lb. FWIW all are in favor of the 7-08. If you handload, it's a toss up. In buying factory loads 308 is the clear winner.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

no brainer---.308------ NATO round when the big one comes------ besides that------ if ya shoot your deer with 130gr .308---- tell the deer and all your friends ya used a 120gr 7-08 -- even the deer won't know the difference. Web

I have a stainless, left-hand RAR in .308. I have about a thousand rounds through it and absolutely love it. 1/2 moa with 150 Interlocks at over 2900 fps, when I can shoot straight. Slams deer.
You did not "seen" anything, you "saw" it. A "creek" has water in it, a "crick" is what you get in your neck. Liberals with guns are nothing but hypocrites.

That would be great if I can do anything half way close to that with this one. I wish I had gotten on the RAR bandwagon when SS compact was still made. All I could find in SS RA compact now was .243. But for $350 I'm ok with that.

7mm-08 vs. 308, 200 yards, deer.
That’s a Chevy vs Ford arguement right there. A blonde vs a brunette. A lab vs Chesapeake. A 270 vs 30-06.
Whatever floats your boat.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

I mean matte black steel and black synthetic stock ain't exactly eye candy, but here ya go. A pic it really happened!! I've got a spankin' new Leupold VX2 2-7x33 to go on. Need to get some rings ordered. On that, low or medium? Or do I have a choice? I want to use Leupold rings.
