3 bulls,34 cows in 40 years,living in Mt. 1 bull was from Ut. Started with 30-06 w 190 hornady 190btsp. Then 300 win mag, w/200 swift a frames. Drew a trophy bull after 9yrs of trying. Wife was drawn 3 times in same period. she got 3 6pts w/280 w/154 hornadys. Didn't put her name in this year,and I got a tag. Switched to custom Sako 338-06 w/210 partitions. Will be going out in next 2-3 wks. Love chicken fried cubed elk steaks! Randall Good luck on your hunt!!!!

I switched from a .308W to .35 Whelen and now use a .300 Weatherby so I can really kill them dead! LOL!

My little brother just took his first elk with a danged 270 Winchester, Ruger Hawkeye I sold him awhile back. We worked up a great shooting load with Tipped TBBCs and H4831SC. Took the cow with a spot on high shoulder shot and wrecked the works at 240 yards after a great stalk. Pretty sure old Bob was smiling knowing the 270 Win is still out there killing stuff with plain old 6X fixed scopes and great Bullets. Happy hunting fellas!
