That's what I have in mine. MUCH better than the Interstate batteries before them!

I was told by the cart place to charge it fully, then check the water level in the batteries after charging. Fill to the top of the recessed filling opening. Not clear to the top. Check levels every 30 days. Charge the batteries when the indicator is at half charge.

Not sure on specifically 12 volt batteries but for 6 volt, the best are Trojan T-105's or Interstate 2200's. 6 volts can be wired into a 12 volt system which was what I had.


These are not only the most popular for golf carts but also for off grid solar applications. My Interstate 2200's just bit the bullet after 13 years, My uncle's Trojan T-105's lasted 11 years under heavy use of full time off grid applications. Difference between these deep cycle lead acid batteries and marine batteries is the number of deep discharge cycles. It's not even close which is why the majority use deep cycle for golf cart and off grid use.

A set of Trojam T-105's I bought last week for my second hunting cabin were $119 each after core exchange. I feel this is the best bang for the buck you can get today for proven deep cycle batteries.

The best way to ruin golf cart batteries is to trust the "indicator" on the charger.....9 times out of ten, an automatic charger will shut off before the battery is fully charged, because that's how they work (or don't).
Charge immediately after adding water; check the state of charge with a hydrometer after the charge cycle. If it doesn't register above 1275 specific gravity, unhook charger, let them sit for 12 hours, then put back on.

Almost all golf carts used 6 volt batteries in the old days, 8 volt now.

The only 12 volt golf cart batteries I've personally seen were 4 long skinny ones used in an EZGO RXV. Those batteries were expensive and harder to find. I changed the system over to use 6 8 volt batteries instead.

What machine are they going in? Is it using 4 12 volt batteries now?

I believe a lot of the battery chains carry them now. Interstate even has their own specifically designed for golf carts. They're not local but I use golf cart garage and purchased my current Trojan Batteries from them. They ship free.

I've used East Penn, Trojan and Crown. The best of the bunch was Crown.

Call a couple rental places in town that handle scissor lifts and other electric equipment and see where they source their batteries. They usually get them from a supplier and are usually a step above most places like auto supply stores and Home Depot. Also, I've bought the good batteries for my scissor lifts when I was in business and had several of them from Batteries Plus.... They worked great and lasted as long as the OEM batteries the lifts came with... and get a good charger rated for the batteries as the manufacturer recommends to use. The better batteries are probably going to cost a bit more, but if you charge them properly and take care of them they will last a good long time. The batteries in our scissor lifts would last for years with my electricians using them as hard as they could every day and charging them every night....

For the most part batteries are batteries. There’s only a couple of manufacturers in the US and they swap the labels at random. Paying 2-3X for designer brand batteries is dumb, buy the cheapest, maintain them right and replace them when they quit.

It’s like folks that pay $3 for a bottle of Dasani water, it’s the same as the 50 cent house brand.
