Excellent post, SandBilly.
Here’s hoping ole Mitch can continue to keep them off balance and ram all vacancies through. He is. - Democratic Senators on Thursday agreed to confirm 15 of President Donald Trump's federal judge picks so they can return to their home states to campaign. With Republicans holding the Senate majority, the 15 judges were likely to be confirmed anyways, even if Democrats attempted to force hours of debate for each one. That led to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York making a deal with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky to confirm the judges and allow for a recess, in order for candidates up for re-election to hit the campaign trail, Politico reported. The addition of 15 federal judges just days after the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court was seen as another win for the GOP with the November midterms on the horizon. And Democratic activists were not pleased. "This deal was totally unnecessary and was a bitter pill to swallow so soon after the Kavanaugh fight that so many progressive activists poured their hearts and souls into," Chris Kang, the Chief Counsel of anti-Trump organization, Demand Justice, said in a statement. "This period will be long remembered not just for the historic number of judges Trump has been able to confirm, but also because of how passive Democrats were in response." RELATED Supreme Court won't hear appeal challenging North Dakota voter ID law NARAL, the pro-abortion rights organization, called the deal "especially painful" and decried the addition of judges that it claims are anti-choice. "Americans deserve better than deals cut at the expense of our liberty," the group said. "The anti-choice GOP should be ashamed [of] their blatant conservative court-packing." There's no doubt that Trump is leaving a substantial mark on the federal court system. Approximately one out of every six appeals court judges in the country is a Trump pick. Reading that just confirms what a bunch of dumb sunsabitches the Republicans are. Says the left didn't have any leverage anyway so they cut a deal with Republicans to go home and campaign instead. F'n R's should have drug it out for weeks to keep them in Washington! I wonder. do the R's ever feel like Charlie Brown when he tries to kick the football? On the other hand, the stupid leftist activists complained that their candidates weren't tied up in Washington debating the picks and were instead allowed to go home and campaign! There is a whole lotta stupid going around right now.

R’s need to campaign too.
No leftist will be convinced they need to vote for a republican. All the right needs is a get out and vote message.

SandBilly,
IF the remaining vacant positions are filled with people who are as GREAT as Trump's 2 nominees to the SCOTUS, I'd be PLEASED clear down to the ground.

Chuck Grassley is a sharp guy for just being a farmer from Iowa. He knows the rules and he knows what has to be done. He also has the work ethic to back it up. Congress needs to stay in session until business is done.

If they need blue slips for the Ninth Circuit, Idaho has two Senators, as does Montana.
Is there a reason they would have to come from Cali? Usually they are from the state where the appeals court sits... how would you like it if Idaho Appeals Court judges were picked from California? The court just happens to be part of the 9th Circuit.
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

She says the appointees will blindly support the presidents agenda. Someone tell her, Trumps agenda is the Constitution.

There’s absolutely no chance of getting any kind of cooperation out of those two so why bother? There’s no reason to even talk to them. This ^^^ kwg

They may "sit" in CA but ID and MT as well as several other states fall under their jurisdiction......so yea......our Senator's opinion is just as important as CA's. https://ballotpedia.org/United_States_Court_of_Appeals_for_the_Ninth_CircuitPS....So are Alaska's.

Also notice, Charles Grassley is Donald Trump's go to guy on the Judiciary. Charles is almost 85 years old and goes out for a morning 3 mile run 3 days a week. If he runs again, I'm voting for him again. kwg
